Once learning what a pong is, everybody is invited to visit #Aposhack and participate of pong sessions to learn how to create beautiful fractals, share some knowledge and have lots of fun.

The Importance of Sharing
Reminding, a fractal art piece is created by developing a parameter set and then rendering it into final artwork. This makes easy the creation of versions of the same work, or development of it into something entirely different, while the original is still there. From this point, there is just a small step to share the parameters with other artists.
So... Pongs
Pongs are basically parameter exchanges: one makes public the parameters of an artwork, and then another person "tweaks", manipulates them, and also shares their own version. So the first artists - or someone else - can tweak it again. Like a ping pong game.
There are a few ways to start a pong: for example, one may just share the parameters in artwork description, release a parameter pack, write a journal, join an existing pong. Also, people frequently pong "real time" in chats.
Lets show a few examples. First of all, one of the most extensive pongs on deviant art. I will display just a few artworks, unfortunately leaving the other 403 out.
Pongs are not exclusive of one or some softwares. For example, here is a lovely Ultra Fractal pong.
Why do people pong? First of all, it is fun, as any other collab. Second, it is a great opportunity to learn something, or just get out of your normal artistic sandbox, by working with something you are not used to work. Third, you can share your own experience and techniques with everybody. And well, teaming up definitely produces lots of awesome art, as you can see above.
Another series. Here, while some fractals are an actual pong, others just share a common technique: one fractal artist shared it (plangkye, ), and other tweaked to learn and then made their own.
