I feel something just like this flame right now. First flame I've made after my cat's death. Death Shall Have No Dominion by ~akkamaddi, here: [link] "And death shall have no dominion", by Dylan Thomas And death shall have no dominion. Dead men naked they shall be one With the man in the wind and the west moon; When their bones are picked clean and the clean bones gone, They shall have stars at elbow and foot; Though they go mad they shall be sane, Though they sink through the sea they shall rise again; Though lovers be lost love shall not; And death shall have no dominion. And death shall have no dominion. Under the windings of the sea They lying long shall not die windily; Twisting on racks when sinews give way, Strapped to a wheel, yet they shall not break; Faith in their hands shall snap in two, And the unicorn evils run them through; Split all ends up they shan't crack; And death shall have no dominion. And death shall have no dominion. No more may gulls cry at their ears Or waves break loud on the seashores; Where blew a flower may a flower no more Lift its head to the blows of the rain; Though they be mad and dead as nails, Heads of the characters hammer through daisies; Break in the sun till the sun breaks down, And death shall have no dominion. |

I watched Solaris about two weeks ago, and that phrase and poem re-occurs in the movie (and is a song on the sound-track). Just yesterday I was thinking I should try to do a flame to that phrase... and you beat me to it!
It looks like you did a better job that I would, too!

Actually, it was not from the Solaris, since I dislike the american version (the russian one is better). But this poem was one of the first things I've ever read in english, so...
You should try to create a flame to this phrase, you may give it a whole different meaning. This was my first flame after my cat's death, and I was too depressed to be really creative
With the man in the wind and the west moon;
When their bones are picked clean and the clean bones gone,
They shall have stars at elbow and foot;
Though they go mad they shall be sane,
Though they sink through the sea they shall rise again;
Though lovers be lost love shall not;
And death shall have no dominion.
It's a sad but beautiful poem.
I have both the Russian and American versions of the move, and the original book (somewhere) by Stanislaw Lem. I think all three focus on different parts of the story. To me, they all seem like different, similar stories. I like them all, but for different reasons.
I will have to make a flame for that phrase! My first challenge!

Just had a contest idea, someone should use it: to choose a phrase or a poem and then...
It may be fun
